NOVUS joins the Gefran Group: a new phase of development begins

A transaction that brings together complementary expertise to accelerate innovation and international growth.

Acquisition completed

As part of its strategy for international growth and the expansion of its technological offering, Gefran is embarking on a new phase of development with the addition of NOVUS to the Group. On 1 October 2026, Gefran, through its subsidiary Gefran Brasil, finalised the acquisition of the entire share capital of Novuspar Participações Societárias Ltda. and its associated group of companies. The transaction, announced on 28 August, is based on an enterprise value of 215 million Brazilian reais, equivalent to approximately 36.2 million euros.

NOVUS Automation

Headquartered in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, NOVUS is Brazil’s leading provider of industrial automation solutions, which it develops and manufactures for sectors such as food, pharmaceuticals, energy, infrastructure and manufacturing. The group employs around 230 people and recorded revenues of 98.6 million Brazilian reais in 2025.

Complementarity and prospects for growth

Gefran’s expertise in sensors and industrial process control complements the NOVUS portfolio, which includes controllers, transmitters, data loggers, data acquisition systems and Industrial IoT solutions.

The transaction capitalises on the strong industrial complementarities between the two organisations. The integration of the sales networks will strengthen the Group’s presence in Latin America and bring NOVUS solutions to the markets of Europe, North America and Asia. Significant synergies are also expected from the optimisation of the respective production platforms, the streamlining of procurement and the sharing of technological expertise and research and development capabilities.

The aim is to accelerate innovation, reduce the time-to-market for new solutions and respond more promptly to the needs of customers in different countries, generating sustainable long-term value for customers, employees and shareholders.

“The completion of the acquisition of NOVUS marks the start of a new phase in Gefran’s growth journey,” said Marcello Perini, CEO of the Gefran Group. “The most interesting aspect of this transaction is not what NOVUS and Gefran are today, but what they can become together. We are particularly pleased with the industrial opportunities that this combination makes immediately accessible. Our priority will be to swiftly transform these opportunities into profitable growth, whilst maintaining the entrepreneurial approach and customer focus that both companies share.”
